why do we have broken Homes

**Why Do We Have Broken Homes and Dysfunctional Children in Our Society Today?**

Have you ever stopped to ask why so many children today seem to be growing up angry, disconnected, or lost — even in homes that look "fine" from the outside?

Behind every dysfunctional child is often a story that started long before that child was born — a broken home, an absent parent, an unhealed wound passed silently from one generation to the next.

We live in a time where family, the first and most powerful classroom of life, is under quiet siege. Marriages collapse under pressure that was never properly prepared for. Parents are present in body but absent in spirit — too busy, too wounded, or too distracted to truly raise the children in their care. And children, sensing this void, go looking for identity, validation, and belonging in places that were never meant to shape them: the streets, social media, peer pressure, or silence.

A broken home is not always the one torn apart by divorce or separation. Sometimes it's the home that is intact on paper, but empty of love, correction, communication, and presence. Children raised in that kind of environment don't always show the cracks immediately — but eventually, what wasn't deposited in them shows up as anger, rebellion, insecurity, or emptiness.

If we want a healthier society, we cannot legislate our way there or educate our way there alone. We must return to the foundation: strong homes, present parents, healed adults raising whole children. It starts with us — with intentional love, consistent presence, and the courage to break cycles rather than repeat them.

The home is still the first nation a child ever belongs to. If we want a better tomorrow, we must rebuild it — one family, one decision, one healed parent at a time.
